The sequel to Sonic: The Movie already has a release date

Sonic: The Movie was so successful in theaters that it became the best adaptation of a video game to the cinema in terms of earnings. This huge response from the audience almost ensured that Paramount and SEGA would work on more movies, but there were no official plans.
