The Last of Us Part 2 is one of our most anticipated games of 2020, as developer Naughty Dog is known to deliver tight set-pieces, incredible characters, and powerful narratives, and we’re eager to see where the story of Ellie and Joel goes next. Originally set to release February 21, the game is now releasing May 29, 2020 for PS4. If you’re attending PAX East 2020 in February, you’ll have the chance to play The Last of Us Part 2 yourself in the game’s first-ever public demo.
The latest story trailer showed protagonist Ellie on a killing spree after a terrible event involving her best friend and romantic interest, Dina–and we got our first look at a much older-looking Joel, who shows up to help her get revenge.
The Last of Us Part 2 pre-order bonuses
If you pre-order The Last of Us Part 2, you’ll receive two in-game items–an ammo capacity upgrade and crafting training manual–at launch. Pre-order the standard or Digital Deluxe edition on the PlayStation Store, and you’ll also receive a PSN avatar featuring Ellie’s tattoo.

If you opt to pre-order the Special Edition of The Last of Us Part 2, you’ll receive:

Pre-order The Last of Us Part 2 Ellie Edition
The Ellie Edition, which has been incredibly popular among The Last of Us fans. Available for $230, the Ellie Edition includes everything that comes with the Collector’s Edition listed above, plus a full-sized, fully functional recreation of Ellie’s backpack. You’ll also receive an embroidered patch and 7″ vinyl record with music from the original soundtrack.
The Ellie Edition sold out quickly when it was first announced, restocked temporarily on February 13, and has since sold out again. That said, some retailers will let you sign up for notifications if the product comes back into stock, so it’s worth doing that and checking back regularly if you really want to get your hands on this edition.

Pre-order the “Ellie with Machete” Statuette
The 8-inch “Ellie with Machete” polyresin statuette was designed and sculpted by Naughty Dog character artists, and it’s available to pre-order now at Dark Horse Direct. According to Naughty Dog, this is a limited-production run based on the number of pre-orders received by March 13, 2020. After this pre-order period ends, the statue won’t be restocked. The “Ellie with Machete” statue comes with a 6.5-inch round terrain base and a certificate of authenticity. Orders are expected to start shipping between June and September 2020.
In addition, Naughty Dog revealed Dark Horse will be releasing an 8-inch PVC version of the “Ellie with Bow” statue that sold out last year. It should become available at select retailers starting this summer.
