PUBG: the new game based on the Battle Royale will be revealed very soon
PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS became popular thanks to its release on PC. Its success made possible its launch on consoles and even mobile devices.
The Battle Royale universe will grow soon, as a new game based on the franchise is already in development. In case you don’t remember, Glen Schofield, the co-founder of Sledgehammer Games, joined PUBG Corp. to be the head of Striking Distance, a new development team. Schofield and his team work on a PUBG-based narrative adventure.
The project was announced in June 2019, but very few details about it were revealed and no teaser trailer was shown. This will change soon, as Schofield confirmed that he will reveal his project very soon.
The announcement will be made in a matter of hours, as it will take place at The Game Awards 2020. For now we only know that Striking Distance is working on a totally original narrative experience that will take place in the PUBG universe. Players have high expectations of the project, as Schofield has worked on major franchises such as Call of Duty and Dead Space.
The new game promises to take the PUBG experience beyond Battle Royale. Through his social networks, Geoff Keighley, host of The Game Awards 2020, confirmed that the project will be part of the programming.
The event will be important not only for the future of PUBG, as Schofield and the entire Striking Distance team will also reveal their first game to everyone. The creative will be in charge of presenting the title. Schofield invited players to watch the event, as he promises there will be great news. We remind you that The Game Awards 2020 will take place tomorrow, December 10.
