Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan confirmed that they will do so with the intention of not segmenting the franchise community, taking into account their competitive section, because they do not want the division to be favorable to anyone.

“There will be a point where customers merge. We believe this is important, especially in a competitive experience. The idea in general is to avoid fragmenting the player base and not giving anyone any competitive advantage. If we are playing in the same competitive community, you better not have a better frame rate per second just because you are in a different version of the game, ”Kaplan explained.
