WORLD OF WARCRAFT
World of Warcraft (abbreviated as WoW) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. It is the fourth game released established in the fantastic universe of Warcraft, which was first introduced by Warcraft: Orcs & Humans in 1994 World of Warcraft takes place within the world of Azeroth, four years after the final events of the previous installment from Warcraft, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. Blizzard Entertainment announced World of Warcraft on September 2, 2001.
The game was released on November 23, 2004, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Warcraft franchise. The first expansion of the game The Burning Crusade was released on January 16, 2007. The second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, was released on November 13, 2008. The third expansion, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm was announced on BlizzCon 2009 and was launched on December 7, 2010. The fourth expansion, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria was announced at BlizzCon 2011 and was launched on September 25, 2012. The fifth expansion, World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor was announced at BlizzCon 2013 and was released on November 13, 2014. The sixth expansion, World of Warcraft: Legion was announced at BlizzCon 2015 and was launched on August 30, 2016. The seventh expansion, World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth was announced at BlizzCon 2017 and recently launched on August 14, 2018, being the first expansion in the history of the game to be launched globally simultaneously. With 7.7 million subscribers, World of Warcraft continues to be by far the online subscription game with the largest user registry, maintaining the Guinness record for the most popular MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Rol Playing Game).
