This is how CD Projekt RED responds to rumors of Cyberpunk 2077's performance on consoles

CD Projekt RED recently announced the delay of Cyberpunk 2077, which will make it debut a few months later than planned. All that was said was that the developer would use this time to polish the title. However, shortly thereafter information came to light that pointed out that the real reason for the delay was to make the game run better on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This is unofficial and even somewhat incorrect and recently the study talked about it.

CD Projekt RED member Benzenzimmern addressed the recent rumors that revolve around the development of the long-awaited title. According to Benzenzimmern, the developer is working on the 2 consoles mentioned in the rumor, but not only in them, but also in PC, but not because they have a bad performance, but because “it’s what you do in the last stages of game development.”

Thus, the developer said that there may be many rumors out there about the delay, but that they only serve as that, as a rumor, which does not necessarily harbor truth. That said, he confirmed that there is nothing hidden, but that they work to deliver a game as well as possible.

“When the game is done, many things are not optimized because they are in constant flux, changing, and not finished. So simple answers like ‘delayed why X’ can do the times of a rumor, but they don’t represent much truth. There are always many reasons [for a delay to occur]. Among them, and I can speak for me, just fix bugs, so that the game is as polished as possible. Without hidden agendas, just working on making the game better, ”explained Benzenzimmern.
