There will be games of up to 200 players in Call of Duty: Warzone
The reveal of Call of Duty’s new Battle Royale, Warzone, was recently revealed and users can now download it for free. This approach to gender has proven to be very popular for Activision. Developer Infinity Ward does not intend to rest on its laurels, but plans to take this experience higher to make it unique to its players. The way you plan to do this is through more game modes and improvements, and one of them is the inclusion of more simultaneous players in a game.
In an interview with USA TODAY, Patrick Kelly, one of the heads of the Infinity Ward studio, spoke about the novelties they implemented in the genre, such as the realistic approach they achieved by including various locations that make the map appear as something that exists. Thus, the manager mentioned that another detail that makes the experience feel unique is the number of players and that they decided to launch Warzone with games of up to 150 simultaneous users when it is common to see exponents with a limit of 100. Later, Kelly revealed that it is possible to carry games with up to 200 players, but only they are testing it. However, there are plans to release it for all players “a little later.”
In addition to this, Kelly showed that the studio is working on new game modes and, specifically, mentioned that it is testing with teams of different number of members, which would come as an alternative to the 3-player mode that until now is the one that is available from Warzone. According to the developer, they want to add these changes with “something they know works well,” but no tentative date was given.
