A giant robot will stroll through the streets of Tokyo and will be the sensation in the 2020 Olympics

The Olympic Games has undoubtedly been a real challenge for the organizers, because it is not only about having the stadiums, gyms and residences of the athletes in perfect condition, but also an enormous logistical effort, as well as an opportunity to show the beauties and strengths of the host country.

On this occasion, Japan has almost a fully functional robot inspired by ‘Gundam’, a popular animation character, who will walk the streets of Tokyo during the 2020 Olympics, which will begin next Friday, July 24.

This robot already has three years of preparation and, without a doubt, doing so was a great challenge as explained by its design manager, because only the weight of his hands can weigh 200 kilograms.

The robot is inspired by the character of an anime series called Mobile Suit Gudam in the 80s. That is why Japan, taking advantage of the Olympic games, will also honor the 40 years of this character’s release.
